Belinda "Lindy" P. Childs, , Director of Clinical and Research Services

Lindy Childs is the Clinic and Research coordinator.  She sees patients in the clinic Monday - Thursday. She is a graduate of Wichita State University with a Masters in Nursing, Diabetes Nurse Specialist (1982). She is a Certified Diabetes Educator and was the first to hold the title of President of Health Education and Health Care of the American Diabetes Association in 1997. Lindy serves as Research Coordinator and investigator on numerous research studies conducted in the practice. She serves as adjunct faculty in the School of Nursing at Wichita State University. She is a member of the Great Plains Diabetes Research board. She is published in the field of diabetes. Her memberships include the American Diabetes Association, American Nurses Association, and the American Association of Diabetes Educators. She received the American Diabetes Association Dr. Rachmiel Levine Award in 1997.  She served as Editor of the Diabetes Spectrum, a Diabetes journal for health professionals, from 2001 - 2005.  She is editor of The Complete Nurses Guide to Diabetes Care, first published by the ADA in 2005, with a second edition in 2009.
